Dale Jr's Sponsor?

If Budweiser does not follow Dale Earnhardt Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports who would you like to see sponsor NASCAR’s most popular driver?

Right now there are a few sponsors on the rumor mill like Monster Energy and Pepsi/Mountain Dew, both of which are a perfect fit.

Monster Energy typically caters to the younger crowd that is interested in extreme sports. They have stepped up their presence in motorsports sponsoring Robby Gordon in Cup and NHRA Funny Car driver Kenny Bernstein. And remember before Monster, Bernstein was sponsored by Budweiser for 22 years.

Pepsi would be the logical choice because of their long-time association with Jeff Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports. Could you imagine Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Gordon forming a Pepsi super team running two cars at Talladega or Daytona? I can just picture a majority of the Junior nation getting sick to their stomach right now with the thought of that.

Pepsi also has a bunch of brands that fit Junior with Mountain Dew topping the list. Mountain Dew would be a popular one because it would be retro. Remember how cool it was to see Brian Vickers pilot a Hendrick Busch car that paid tribute to Darrell Waltrip’s first Cup title at Michigan in 2006. With Mountain Dew on the track and Waltrip in the booth just imagine how much airtime that sponsor will get. Don't forget Waltrip was also sponsored by Gatorade - another Pepsi product.

Junior also had a successful sponsorship deal with Yum Brands, which serves Pespi products in most of their restaurants. Junior had KFC and Taco Bell on his Busch cars back in 2004.

As of now we are playing the waiting game with Bud and if Hendrick can obtain the No. 8 from DEI.

So "if" Bud is out of the question with Junior in 2008, my pick would be PepsiCo for the sponsorship of his Hendrick Motorsports ride.

Who do you think will sponsor Dale Jr. "if" Bud does not follow him?

The number 8 is not owned by DEI.  Nascar assigns numbers to the owner.  The owner does not own it and is not for them to "Sell".  Nascar will not how ever get involved with the disposition of the Number to set a precedence for Dale Jr.  It all comes down to whether DEI will release the number for Him.  What ever sponser Jr. gets the fans will accept and back him for who he is.  We can go back to even his Dad.  Wrangler. Mom and Pops, The Number 15, 8 and of course the 3.  So what ever number and sponser Jr. Gets I will be a Fan

Monster Energy Drink could be a good sponsor as they seem to be very interested in supporting motorsports.  In addition to their support of Robby Gordon they also sponsor Paul Tracy in ChampCar.

Although I don't drink Budwieser, I dont mind wearing red apparel. But the thought of wearing lots of green does not sit well with me(exept st. pats day).Don't do the Dew Jr., unless it's a predominately white paint scheme, like D.W.'s was. Otherwise stick with blue and red Pepsi; and drive your A** off!!!!!!!!!

Okay, let's say good bye to the crazy mutant desert guys :(.  They will be missed.  Just think of all the people that complain about JR getting too much press time on Fox with DW.  JR + Mountain Dew + DW = lots of Junebug time. LOL.  I think the best we can hope for is JR in the 08 in 08.  I am a die hard fan, so I will be at the trailer come February with my gold card in hand. :0)

I'm a huge Dale Jr. mark, but this is a terrible decision. Budweiser is bigger than Jr.  He the most popular driver because only Budweiser puts so much promotion behind a driver. Look for Kasey Kahne, or who ever the next Bud driver is, to be the most popular within 2 years. The sea of red continues with or without Dale Jr.

I like the idea of going with Coke much better than going with Mountain Dew.  At least that way we would still stay red for attire.  I agree with a previous fan - I sure don't want to wear green.  Please don't do the dew

Mt. Dew would be awesome. When Kasey Kahne drove the car for a couple races a few seasons ago, the car was mainly BLACK, and looked pretty damn sharp if you ask me. Look for a pic of the Kasey Kahne Dew car at jayski.com.

Besides...

I really hope Pepsi doesn't sponsor him due to I don't like the coor blue. Afterall I bought a Red Dully and put Junior stickers on it and I really don't want to but a Blue one. Junior looks too good in red.

I hate to see budwiser go but i've always been a Jr fan and I will continue to be.  I was hoping to see him on another team and see him keep the bud car. I don't really care which sponsor he goes with because I know he will pick the best one for him and his fans

I believe Dale should choose 08 for 08. If Clint can do it with 07 why can't Dale Jr. do it with 08.
A new beginning. A new team. A new sponser-my recommendation is Do the Dew.

Also, Pepsi is no longer a sponsor of NASCAR events.  I'm sure you all know, Coca-Cola has signed on for 2008 and Daytona's July race name has yet to be determined.  Mountain Dew as Jr's sponsor would fit him though in my opinion.  Mountain Dew supports A LOT of other events as well outside of NASCAR racing, so I think it would be interesting to see what else they could do with big names.
